The best material for HVAC duct fabrication depends on the application and environment.

    Commonly used materials include:

Galvanized Iron (GI) – Durable and cost-effective
Stainless Steel – Corrosion resistant for industrial use
Aluminum – Lightweight and easy to install

For commercial HVAC systems, GI ducts are widely preferred because of their strength and affordability. However, industries with moisture or chemical exposure often use stainless steel ducting.

Proper HVAC ducting fabrication also includes insulation, sealing, and airflow design for maximum efficiency.

You explained the different HVAC duct materials really well. A lot of people only focus on the AC unit itself and forget how important proper duct fabrication and airflow design are for overall efficiency. I’ve noticed that insulation also plays a huge role in cooling performance. I was recently researching mini split AC cost for insulated garage setups, and many homeowners mentioned that a properly insulated space reduces energy loss and helps the system run much more efficiently. Good ductwork and insulation together can make a big difference in comfort and long-term operating costs.
