In car insurance ontario is legally required for all drivers, and it must include several mandatory coverage components. These include Third-Party Liability coverage (with a minimum limit of $200,000, though most drivers opt for $1 million or more), Statutory Accident Benefits coverage (which provides compensation regardless of who is at fault in an accident), Direct Compensation – Property Damage (DC-PD) coverage (which covers damage to your vehicle when you’re not at fault), and Uninsured Automobile coverage (which protects you if you’re involved in an accident with an uninsured or hit-and-run driver). Optional coverages like comprehensive and collision insurance can also be added for broader protection.
