While the season finishes out with the Stanley Cup Final, the other 28 teams are left with little to do but prepare for the summer season when rosters take shape for next season.Obviously one component of that is how the salary cap is going to shape up. It’s hard to lay out a blueprint if you don’t know how much money you will have available to manuever and sign that coveted free agent Rondae Hollis-Jefferson Jersey or land that prized player in a trade. On that note, the GMs have a good idea with what kind of money they will have to play with this summer. From :Those numbers are based on commi sioner Gary Bettman’s announcement Malik Sealy Jersey that the league had $3.3 billion in revenues this season, a new record. Using that number the percentages are figured out and then you have the cap.Of course, as Mirtle points out, there’s no telling what the number could look like when the new CBA is negotiated, whenever that might be. The owners are obviously going to try and reduce that number, get some money back from the players that they conceded in the last negotiations. It’s going to make for a very interesting free-agent scene. Will any team be willing Omari Spellman Jersey to push close to that new cap number, risking the potential of it dropping in the new CBA and thus being stuck over the maximum? That will be worth watching, especially among the contenders for the presumed top free agents like and , if they even get there. Jordan McLaughlin Jersey In fact, if any GM is feeling really daring they could spend as much as $77 million on payroll this summer. The rule is that they would have to get down to the cap by the season’s start.I’d expect that most teams will probably stay a decent ways underneath that Andrew Wiggins Jersey cap that will likely just be temporary. The uncertain future is going to probably scare a few decision-makers around the league. But then again, one GM’s trepidation will probably be another’s gain. There would likely be some willing to risk it to land a prime target and worry about how to get under the cap if needed later.
