When the world mourned the death of rock legend Prince, the lo s was particularly felt in the musician’s native Minnesota. Tributes of all kinds poured out from the Land of 10,000 Lakes, including many from the local teams. Among them, the Minnesota Wild held a moment of silence prior to Game 6 of their first- Denmark Jersey round matchup against the Dallas Stars. They also temporarily changed their goal song to Prince’s hit “Let’s Go Crazy.” While it was only going to be used for that game, the response to the song was so strong that the team had to at least consider making the change permanent. So the Wild quietly went to its season ticket holders with a questionnaire, asking about a number of things. One question stuck out, though, as the team asked if they should change up the goal song for next season. Word soon Crystal Palace Jersey got out about this questionnaire and suddenly the team started getting calls, emails and tweets in favor of changing the song, which had been Joe Satriani’s “Crowd Chant.” According to the team, fans were very vocal about their desire to make the switch, voting almost 2-to-1 in favor of a change, so the Wild listened. You spoke, we listened: will change its goal song to Prince’s Minnesota Wild (@mnwild) “Our in-arena experience is designed for the fans, so it’s great to be able to show them we take their feedback to heart,” said John Maher, vice president of Iceland Jersey brand, content and communications for the Wild, . “At the same time, it’s our privilege to celebrate an iconic hometown artist that clearly has had an incredible impact on our community and the world.” Starting with the team’s first preseason game on Sept. 27, “Let’s Go Crazy” will be played after every goal scored by the Wild in the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Prince’s cla sic “Let’ Serbia Jersey s Go Crazy” is the Wild’s new goal song. Getty Images I’m not sure if the song has ever been used by a team before in this capacity, but if it hasn’t, it took too long for this to happen. “Let’s Go Crazy” is perfect as a goal song, with the upbeat tempo and the spot on words for the way a crowd reacts after the home team scores. The chorus even gives the crowd a chance to sing along, particularly at the “Oh no, let’s go” part. It checks a lot of boxes, on top of it being performed by a local icon. Here’s how it sounded when the Wild played it after a goal during the playoffs: “Let’s Go Crazy” actually does have a hockey history aside from being a goal song, too. Back in the mid-1990s, the NHL used the Manchester United Jersey song for its “Get Cup Crazy” add campaign to promote the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Now that it has a more permanent NHL home, “Let’s Go Crazy” may actually give the Buffalo Sabres, to spectacular results, a run for their money as the best goal song in the league.
