No, Modalert 200 mg is not used to promote sleep. Rather, it is a wake-promoting medication intended to counter excessive daytime sleepiness associated with sleep disorders such as narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and shift-work sleep disorder (SWSD). Modalert contains Modafinil, which stimulates the brain to increase alertness and reduce the tendency to doze off during the day. It helps patients stay awake and focused even when their natural sleep-wake cycle is disrupted. Because Modalert 200mg promotes wakefulness, its use is not recommended for those looking to improve their sleep. Taking Modalert close to bedtime may cause insomnia or disrupt normal sleep patterns. It should only be used for its intended purpose of increasing daytime alertness and attention as prescribed by a doctor.
