    I’m about to self-publish my first book and keep seeing recommendations for a book proofreading service. How essential is it really? Can professional proofreading make that big of a difference in reader experience and credibility, or is careful self-editing enough? For those who’ve used such services, did it significantly improve your manuscript? Are there specific things a proofreading service does that I might miss if I skip it? Any insights would help!
