How to choose a laptop for work and leisure?

My friend is a big fan of movies and arcade games, and I would like to give him something functional and compact. I have no idea what to choose and how to look for it. I’m hoping for some recommendations. And yes, the emphasis should be on image quality

But seriously, I advise you to choose something on the official website: https://www.apple.com/mac/ (yes, I’m an Apple gal), I can’t help it, nothing else comes to mind for your request, and probably won’t, since I’ve been using it for several years and the balance between functionality (response) and price is still at a good level.
