Do you need to buy a MacBook for work?

Apple technology is such an interesting thing. I don’t understand why it’s so in demand. I have a regular laptop, and overall, everything works fine, and I have no complaints about it. But when I was applying for a job, one of the mandatory requirements was that every employee had to have a Macbook. This seemed strange to me. And now I don’t know what to do. Should I buy a new laptop or look for another job?
