In Diablo 4, we all know Diablo 4’s bosses are a challenge to defeat. However, it isn’t just the bosses that players need to look out for. They will come across some enemies that can be just as much of a challenge as their boss counterparts while adventuring across Sanctuary. Let’s walk through which ones you should be extra cautious of when up against.
1. The Impaler
The Impaler sits in the back lines while groups of enemies grab the player’s attention. The Impaler then proceeds to throw giant metal spears at the player which hit for significantly more damage. Naturally, it may be easier to dodge these spears compared to the close-range enemies that also hit hard, but forgetting to take care of an Impaler could be the difference between life and death.
2. Blood Magus
Another opponent that is likely to teleport around the battlefield while attacking from afar is the Vampiric Blood Magus. This mage will be attacking the player from a distance, teleporting away when the player attempts to pursue them. In this situation, it is important for the player to stay dedicated. Focusing on the Blood Magus and trying to keep up with them will quickly put an end to its reign. Players can take on the persona of a Blood Magus as a Necromancer, where they will hopefully become just as powerful as the enemy.
3. Banshees
Banshees may not be a difficult foe to face, but this doesn’t stop them from being an incredibly unsettling enemy to encounter. Part of their difficulty comes from them being a ghost that teleports around the player in the hope of surviving. Besides this, the Banshee can do a surprising amount of damage. While some spirits attack up close, the Banshee is likely to use a wide range of abilities to get the upper hand on the player.
4. Mauler
Besides all the regular-sized enemies, players are likely to have this foe catch their eye when taking on the likes of the Blood Clan. These Maulers may walk at a normal pace but carry around a large axe that is sure to take chunks away from the player’s health. This is far more dangerous for those playing squishier, glass cannon-type characters such as the Sorcerer. Hence, for those players, dispatching this enemy quickly is vital for survival.
5. Arsonist
Out of all the regular enemies in the game, some of the most brutal forces are those that attack from a distance. Foes such as the Arsonist, another bandit-type enemy the player will face, will whittle away at the player’s health from range while they are distracted with fighting enemies up close. Arsonists tend to last longer than the other bandit enemies the player is likely to encounter due to this cautious play style. So, dealing with these enemies first makes the player more likely to have an easier time.
