Considering buying a used RS5 but the maintenance horror stories are putting me off

Been eyeing a 2016 RS5 that popped up on Dubizzle a couple weeks ago, gorgeous Sepang Blue, reasonable mileage around ninety thousand, and the price is actually within my budget which is rare for these cars. I went to see it twice already and the seller seems genuine, has service records from new and the car pulls like a freight train, but I keep chickening out on making an offer because of everything I read about the potential transmission costs. It’s got the 7 speed S tronic and from what I gather these are pretty robust compared to the multitronic disasters, but if it does go wrong the bill could easily be fifteen grand or more and that’s just not something I can swallow easily after stretching to buy the car itself. I’ve been on every forum and Facebook group imaginable trying to gauge real world reliability and the opinions are split right down the middle, some owners with 200k on the original box and others who needed Audi transmission repair at half that mileage. The seller offered to let me take it to a specialist for a pre purchase inspection and I feel like that’s probably the smartest few hundred dirhams I could spend right now, but I’m still torn. RS5 owners on here, how has your gearbox held up and would you buy one again knowing what you know now?
